Sports Physical Therapy
Sports Physiotherapy is designed for athletes—whether professional or amateur—looking to recover from injuries, prevent recurrences, and enhance performance. My work always begins with an individual assessment, where I analyze not only the injury but also movement patterns, training load, and each person’s specific goals.
During sessions, I combine manual therapy, joint mobilization, and myofascial techniques, always paired with tailored therapeutic exercises specific to your sport. The focus is on reducing pain, improving mobility, and regaining strength and motor control in a progressive and safe manner. When training adjustments are necessary, I maintain clear communication with the respective coaches.
Beyond recovery, I place special emphasis on injury prevention by correcting imbalances and patterns that may increase future risk. The ultimate goal is a confident return to training and competition, with a body that is better prepared and more resilient.
Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy is indicated for treating pain and dysfunctions affecting muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. I work with people of all ages experiencing issues such as low back, neck, shoulder, or knee pain, as well as other movement limitations that impact daily life.
Every journey begins with a detailed assessment to understand the root cause of the problem and the factors contributing to the pain. Sessions may include manual therapy, joint mobilization, therapeutic exercise, and strategies to improve posture and functionality.
The goal is to alleviate pain and other symptoms, restore function, and improve quality of life, promoting a sustainable recovery tailored to each patient's routine and specific needs.
Clinical Pilates
Clinical Pilates is a therapeutic approach focused on movement control, stability, posture, and deep core strengthening. Sessions are tailored to individual needs and can be conducted one-on-one or in small groups, ensuring close and personalized supervision.
I use Clinical Pilates as a complementary tool to physiotherapy, ideal for both rehabilitation and injury prevention, as well as enhancing physical performance. Each exercise is carefully selected to respect the limitations and goals of every individual.
The focus is on body awareness, movement quality, and building a more balanced, strong, and functional body for daily life and sports.
Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy is a specialized field addressing dysfunctions related to the pelvic floor. This care is indicated for conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, changes during pregnancy and postpartum, or discomfort associated with sports. It is also highly recommended for recovery following hysterectomy, prostatectomy, and abdominoplasty, among others.
The process begins with a careful and respectful assessment to identify each person's unique needs. Treatment may include specific exercises, manual techniques, postural education, and strategies to improve muscle control and function.
All care is provided with sensitivity, comfort, and empathy, promoting well-being, confidence, and an improved quality of life in your daily routine.
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation is essential for effective recovery following orthopedic surgeries, such as knee, shoulder, hip, spine, or ankle interventions. Each treatment plan is tailored to the specific type of surgery, the current phase of recovery, and the patient’s individual goals.
Sessions include a combination of manual techniques for pain and inflammation management, joint mobilizations, and progressive therapeutic exercises focused on restoring mobility, strength, and stability. The pace of treatment is adjusted to each person's progress, while strictly respecting the biological healing timelines.
The objective is to promote a safe return to daily activities and, for athletes, a return to training and competition, minimizing the risk of complications or further injury.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
In our first session, the focus is on understanding your unique situation and your body so I can determine the best way to help. We begin with a detailed physical evaluation, a review of your clinical history, the reason for your visit, and your specific goals. For athletes, we also analyze your training routine and physical activity levels.
Whenever possible, treatment begins during this first session. Throughout the entire process, your comfort and well-being are my priority, and there will always be space to ask questions and understand every step of your care.
-
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement and access to the area being treated. If you have any recent medical reports, clinical documents, or imaging results (such as X-rays or MRIs), please bring them with you.
-
No. Physiotherapy is an autonomous profession, and a medical prescription is not required to begin treatment. However, if you have any previous exams, medical reports, or diagnoses, it is always helpful to bring them to your first session.
-
The number of sessions depends on several factors, such as the type of injury, its severity, your individual goals, and how your body responds to the treatment. After the initial assessment, I will provide an estimate, and the plan will be adjusted based on your progress.
-
Should you need to cancel or reschedule your session, I kindly ask that you do so at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or failure to attend the appointment (no-show), may result in the full session fee being charged, except in exceptional circumstances.
This policy exists to ensure better schedule organization and to allow other patients the opportunity to use that time slot.
-
My practice is exclusively private, which allows me to ensure 100% individualized care. This model ensures that sessions have the necessary duration, with no pre-defined limits on the number of appointments and total freedom in choosing the best therapeutic techniques for you.
In many cases, health insurance providers allow for reimbursement of these sessions. Typically, a prior medical prescription is required by the insurer to process these claims.
